Tropical Pink Smoothie Bowl

Want to take your smoothie bowls to the next level? Start with a nutrient-packed, antioxidant-rich base—think frozen berries, pitaya, mango, or passion fruit. These vibrant fruits are loaded with vitamins and phytonutrients that support skin health, hormone balance, and cellular repair. In this bowl, I used a frozen tropical blend of pitaya, mango, and passion fruit from Pitaya Foods and blended it with a splash of filtered water to keep it nice and thick.

To balance the natural sugars and make it more filling, I always add a good quality protein powder (Truvani is my current go-to) and a spoonful of tahini. Tahini is full of healthy fats and nutrients like calcium and magnesium, which are especially beneficial during the ovulation and luteal phases of the menstrual cycle. It also helps curb the blood sugar spike from the fruit blend, giving this bowl longer-lasting energy and hormonal support.

The toppings are where the magic happens—cacao nibs bring crunch, antioxidants, and magnesium; sunflower seeds add healthy fats and are great for seed cycling; and buckwheat crunch ups the protein and fiber. Smoothie bowls are also a sneaky way to blend in leafy greens, greens powders, or hormone-supportive supplements like collagen, maca powder, or creatine, depending on your needs. Base:

  • 1½ cups frozen pitaya, mango, and passion fruit blend (Pitaya Foods has a good one)
  • ⅓–½ cup filtered water (start with ⅓ cup and add more as needed)
  • 1 scoop good quality protein powder - optional (I use banana cinnamon Truvani)
  • 1 tbsp tahini (for creaminess + hormone support)

Optional Add-Ins:

  • 1 tsp maca powder (for hormonal support)
  • 1 tsp creatine or collagen (depending on your wellness goals)

Toppings:

  • 1/2 tbsp cacao nibs (antioxidants + crunch)
  • 1 tbsp sunflower seeds (healthy fats + seed cycling)
  • 1 tbsp buckwheat crunch (fiber + texture)

Directions:

  1. Add frozen fruit, protein powder, tahini, and filtered water to a high-speed blender.
  2. Blend until smooth and creamy—use the tamper or pulse as needed to maintain thickness.
